Portfolio Loans
A portfolio loan is a mortgage loan originated by a bank and held in the bank’s portfolio over the life of the loan.
A portfolio loan:
- is an option for loans that don’t fit within the guidelines of one of the above products
- is held “in-house” with one of our lenders, therefore allowing for some flexibility with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae guidelines
- typically has a higher interest rate than conventional loans
